‘Touheed’ to host District Level ‘Pratibha Karanji’

We are proud to co-host the much coveted ‘District Level Pratibha Karanjee’, along with the Department of Public Instructions, Government of Karnataka, to be held on Tuesday, 7th October 2008 – from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Insha Allah!

 

This cultural competition is wide open to the linguistic minority educational institutions (Urdu) confined to Udupi district only.

 

Approximately over 100 students, escorted by their respective teachers from different schools are expected to participate in this event.

 

The dignitaries present on the inauguration will be:

 

Mr. Lakshminarayan (Hon. MLA- Byndoor), Mr. Raju Poojary (Pres. Zilla Panchayath, Udupi), Mr. Raju Devadiga (Pres. Taluka Panchayat, Kundapura), Ms. Lakshmi Ganiga (Pres. Grama Panchayath, Ganguli), Ms. Sadhu Billawa (Member, Zilla Panchayat, Trasi), Mr. Surendra Kharvy (Member, Taluk Panchayat, Ganguli) DDPI, BEOs and other officers from the department of education, Udupi district.

 

Competitions for the following (13) topics will be held:

 

Recitation of the holy Qur’an, Urdu Hamd, Urdu Na’th, Art & drawings, Mono-acting, Debate, quiz, Essay-writing, Pick N speak, Urdu Qawwali, National Anthem etc.

 

Necessary preparations / adequate arrangements are being made to ensure smooth conduct of this mega event. Our students are being trained rigorously to exhibit their talents.

 

The estimated expenses incurred will be as under:

‘Touheed’…to the rescue of Br. Abdul Jaleel

Br. G K Abdul Jaleel, aged about 50 years, son of late G K Muhammad Ismail, is a resident of Janatha Colony, Nayakwadi, Gangulli. He is very pious, hardworking, good natured, poor but respectable member of our community. His personal details are as under:

 

  • Profession: Coolie
  • Land holding: 5 cents land allotted by the Government and a hut thereon
  • Dependents: Mrs Khatija B (45, wife), Mrs Mumtaz (30, daughter, widow remarried to a coolie), Mrs Zubeda (26, daughter, married off recently), Abdul Qader (24, son, coolie), Ms Noorjehan (23, unmarried daughter), Ms Asma (21, unmarried daughter)

 

On the eve of 4th September, 2008, Br. Abdul Jaleel received a heart attack and was immediately rushed to the KMC Hospital, Manipal, by his family members for necessary investigation and treatment. As soon as the news was received, ‘Touheed’ through its service wing Social Welfare Federation, flung into action to help save a precious life. Considering his acute poverty, ‘Touheed’ initiated garnering of the funds from its local as well as out-station well-wishers, donors, patrons, etc to meet the cost of his treatment. Alhamdulillah, there was an overwhelming response from all quarters and within one week, amount sufficient to cover the entire expenses was collected and the patient was discharged in a state of complete recovery.

 

Chronological occurrence of events:

 

  • 4th Sep, 2008: Br. Abdul Jaleel gets a heart attack – rushed to KMC Hospital, Manipal for immediate investigations and treatment. KMC suggests angioplasty with a medicated stent – total expenses of the treatment estimated at Rs.1,00,000/- (stent costing 30,000/-)
  • 10th Sep, 2008: Discharged from KMC for better treatment at low cost, at AJ Hospital, Mangalore.
  • 18th Sep, 2008: Admission at AJ Hospital, Mangalore. Estimated total cost – Rs.1,20,000/-
  • 19th Sep, 2008: Surgery – imported medicated stent (costing Rs.60,000/-) got implanted
  • 23rd Sep, 2008: Got discharged from the hospital
