District Level “Pratibha Karanjee” hosted at Touheed English Medium School, Ganguli – A detailed report.

 

 

The much awaited District level students’ cultural (Urdu) talent competition “Pratibha Karanjee” (Fountain of talents), hosted jointly by the Department of Public Instructions, Government of Karnataka and “Touheed”  was held at Touheed English Medium School premises on Tuesday,7th October 2008. This talent competition was open to the linguistic minority educational institutions (Urdu/ Telugu/Tamil/Marathi) of Udupi district.

 

The Inaugural session was held at 10.00am. Br. G.Muhammed Ameen Saheb (Trustee, Touheed Educational Trust) presided. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Raju Devadiga, (President, Taluka Panchayath, Kundapura). Mrs. Sadhu Billawa (Member, Zilla Panchayath, Udupi) was the chief guest. Mr. K. Anand (DDPI, Udupi) Mr. Y.S.Hargi (CAEO, Kundapura) Mr. Mukunda Bhat (Subject Inspector & Nodal Officer, PK) Br. Imthiyaz Kazi (Correspondent, Touheed) Mr. A. Nagesh Rao (Education co-coordinator) Mr. M.Shanker Kharvy (Principal, Touheed Girls’ PU College, Ganguli) Mr. M.G.Banavalikar (HM- Touheed) Hafiz Abdul Gafoor and Hafiz Niyamatullah were on the dias.

 

The programme commenced with recitation of the verses from the holy Qur’an by Wariq Mali. Immediately after this brief inaugural session, the stage was set for the competitions.

 

 Competitions under the following 13 categories were held.

 

Recitation of the verses from the holy Qur’an / Hamd (Urdu) / Na’th (Urdu)/ Arts & drawing / mono-acting / debate / quiz / Essay-writing / Pick N speak / Qawwali (Urdu) / Recitation (Kannada) / Recitation (English) and National Anthem.

 

The criterion of selection of the students for this competition is:

 

Stage I: – The eligible students will compete in the Inter-school competitions.

Stage II: – The winners will participate in the Taluka level competition.

Stage III: – The winners will compete in the District level competitions.

Stage IV: – The winners will go for the State level competitions.

 

Altogether 51 students from 15 schools of the district- from Padubidri to Shiruru, along with their teachers took part in this competition. Judges for the Urdu / Islamic categories were Moulana Abdul Mateen Siddiqi, Hafiz Abdul Gafoor, Hafiz Niyamatullah, Moulana Abdul Haadi and Moulana Touseef. The judges for other categories were from the department of education themselves.

 

The students of Touheed English Medium School, Ganguli participated in 8 categories, out of which, they bagged the entire 8 – First prize in 7 and second prize in 1 category. The details are as under:

 

Qirath- Ms. Noof – I place.

Drawing: Muhammed Azharuddin – I place.

Recitation (English) – Abdul Hannan – I place.

Debate (Urdu) – Ms. Faiqa Kolkar – I place.

Essay writing – Ms. Issra Shaikh – I place.

Qawwali- group (Urdu) – Ayesha Saba, Zuha Bedre, Nida, Heena, Noor-e-arsh- I place.

National Anthem-group- Ayesha Saba, Asiya Saifuddin, Reeha Rehman, Ayesha Nida- I place.

Pick N speak – Suhan – II place.

 

 

The students of our Touheed Public School, Shiruru took part in 2 events. Syed Ifam-ul-Huq bagged first place in Urdu Na’th.

 

The Closing session was held at 4.00pm. Breakfast and lunch was provided to all the participants and the guests. Mementos on behalf of the trust were presented to the dignitaries. Certificates along with cash prizes were distributed to the winners.

 

We take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to the Deputy Director Mr. K. Anand and his officers of the department, Moulana Abdul Mateen Siddiqui and his fellow- ulemas, the students and their respective teachers of all the schools for their co-operation. On the eve of 30th september, 2008, Fitra  was distributed among the deserving families under the auspices of Social Welfare Federation, Gangulli, the social service wing of Touheed Educational Trust. Following are the details of the fitra distribution:
