Touheed Girls’ PU College & Touheed English Medium School, Ganguli – “Annual Day Functions” – A Report.

  

The ‘Annual Day Function’ of the Touheed Girls’ PU College and Touheed English Medium School, Ganguli was held on Sunday, 9th January 2011 at the school grounds.

The function was presided over by Ms. Zubeida, HM of the Touheed Public School, Shiruru. Sr. Maria Nandika, Asst teacher, Stella Maris High School, Ganguli, Ms. Fahina Mushrifun Nakhuda, Ms. Tazeen Abdul Wahid Nakhuda were the chief guests. Ms. Rehana (lecturer) and Ms. Mehjabeen pathan (HM) were also on the dias.

The programme started at 9.30am with the ‘Qirat’ rendered by Muhammad Variq Mali followed by Dua and Hamd rendered by Shariq and Fuzail respectively. The guests were introduced by Ms. Riha Rehman Kazi.

Sr. Maria Nandika in her address emphasized the importance to be accorded to education in general and education to the girls in particular. She expressed her contentment on the efforts being taken of late by the minority communities in the arena of education and health.

Ms. Fahina and Ms. Tazeen, both from the ‘Touheed’ alumni, recalled their childhood days spent with their alma mater. The dignitaries on the dias gave away the prizes to the students. Ms. Arfath read out the names of the winners.

Ms. Zubeida in her presidential address advised the parents to strictly adhere to compulsory education of their children, especially of their girls. She lamented on the frame of mind of most of the parents of providing higher education to the boys and depriving their daughters of this statutory and lawful right. She appealed to the parents not to discriminate on the basis of gender, instead, motivate their daughters to go for higher education.

Ms. Fasawwa Fazal MH welcomed. The college and the school reports were presented by Ms. Rehana and Ms. Mehjabeen Pathan respectively. Ms. Aqsa Intiqab MH proposed vote of thanks. Mementos were presented to the dignitaries on behalf of the Touheed institutions.

A colorful entertainment programme by the tiny tots coupled with breath taking ‘Pyramids’ by the senior boys was presented later. Ms. Farazi Manzoor, Ms. Zeeba and Ms. Jasira anchored this segment. Over 1300 parents attended the function.
